are multi-faceted theater artists who are partners in creativity and partners in life. Whether they’re composing, arranging and orchestrating music; singing and acting; directing and conducting; or producing and recording... they have a passion for telling musical stories with purpose, detail, wit and humor.
FRANK GALGANO & MATT CASTLE
For Disney Cruise Line, they collaborated with bookwriter & lyricist Sara Wordsworth on the award-winning adaptations Disney The Little Mermaid and Disney Beauty and the Beast (dir/chor Connor Gallagher) and fan-favorite musical revue Disney Seas the Adventure (dir/chor Lisa Shriver).
Their orchestrations have been heard in 10 Off-Broadway shows, including: Scotland, PA (Roundabout), Found (Atlantic Theater Company, Philadelphia Theatre Company, IAMA), Into the Woods (Roundabout/Fiasco), Once Upon a Mattress starring Jackie Hoffmann and Lypsinka (Transport Group), Enter Laughing (York Theatre) and Chick Flick the Musical.
Regional and college productions include Up and Away and The Double-Threat Trio (Pittsburgh CLO), String (Village Theatre), The Donner Party (Sacramento Theater Company), Beast Mode Champion (Elon University) and Resident Alien (Western Carolina University).
Family and touring shows include The Elf on the Shelf and American Girl Live! (Mills Entertainment), Kris Kringle (Town Hall, Proctors), Snow White, Rose Red (and Fred!) (Kennedy Center), as well as 9 shows for Theatreworks/USA, 3 for George Street Playhouse and 4 for Pioneer Drama Service.
They have had the pleasure of creating custom arrangements and orchestrations for all kinds of wonderful performers and organizations including Kristin Chenoweth, Cynthia Erivo, Santino Fontana, Carole King, Aloe Blacc, Heidi Blickenstaff, Beth Leavel, Deborah Vogt, Debra Monk, Randy Newman, Randy Rainbow, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, The Jimmy Awards and The Discovery Awards – to drop a few names!
Frank & Matt are currently writing book, music and lyrics for a new musical based on the upcoming indie film From Brooklyn to Boca by Sharron Pfeiffer and Deni B. Sher. They are also working with writer/lyricist Barry Harman to complete an unfinished show begun with the late Keith Herrmann. Next up, they’re composing the score for their first documentary film!
In addition to their work in live theater, Frank & Matt record and produce commercial albums, as well as demos & backing tracks. In 2022, they launched their own record label, BRAINSTORM RECORDS, as a platform to promote artists and material they believe in. The debut album on the label was Cosmic Connections: The Lyrics of Michael Colby (solo album debut for Maureen Taylor) released April 23rd, 2022. Their second release, a 6-song EP Madame Clicquot: A Revolutionary Musical by Lisette Glodowski and Richard C. Walter, was released in April 2023. In the works are the debut album for Broadway’s Jessica Fontana as well as a debut album for indie singer/songwriter Jillienne Leigh and the Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording of Waiting in the Wings, the musical.
